Cooler temperatures, falling leaves and lots of activities - its fall in first grade! Our first grade team consists of: Sylvia Cooper, Jennifer Guardado, Ann Knight, Tina Quiser, and Vicki Whiting. A few things about first grade! Daily Folders: Each day your scholar will bring home a daily folder with behavior updates and homework. You will also find important school papers. Be sure to go through and sign this folder daily. Behavior chart colors: Green – Great Yellow – Warning! Blue – Time out! Loss of 5 minutes of recess Orange – call home loss of all recess red – call home and referral to the office Homework: Your child will receive homework three times a week. All homework will be due the following morning as the child comes to class. We will also be sending home readers for your scholar to read. Please have your scholar read these nightly to help increase fluency. Absences – If your scholar is going to be absent please call or send a email to his/her teacher. For each absence you will be receiving a phone call to make sure your scholar is ok. Praise your child on good behavior and all of their work they bring home. Please don’t leave their work at the bottom of their backpacks. Look at what they missed and help them practice those skills! Be sure to return school forms promptly. .
