Welcome to 2012 in Kindergarten

We are so glad to be back and have thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and the wonderful rains that we have had lately.  Hope your holidays were fun and enjoyable.  We are ready to go, go, go!  We are all about getting ready for First Grade, so we will be working extremely hard at school to cover all of the information your child needs to be successful in Kindergarten and to get ready for First Grade next year.  Please help us by always reading your child's daily folder, helping with their homework, and making sure they are reading with you daily! 

For the 4th six weeks we will be working on Letters N, P, T, V, Y, B, and F... reading a lot of great books!  In Math, we will be working on adding and subtracting numbers 0-5, 3-D shapes, continuing with learning all about coins and their values, and other math skills.  In Science we are learning more about Winter Weather, day and night, hot and cold, and Penguins!!!  Social studies is all about traditions, famous Americans, and Black History. 

Parents, we are experiencing a lot of LOST JACKETS and COATS, please make sure to put your child's name inside their coat to make them easier to find if lost.  Also, be sure to send a coat and jacket with your child every cold day - we try to go outside for recess if at all possible.
